Lets reduce the weight of bags for children

Today the weight of the bag which our children carry to schools is 100 times more than what is taught to them in a day.
The answer lies in the fact that there may be just one teacher for smaller classes. Why, because only one teacher can teach all the subjects.
Hence, why to have six to seven books for small children. Most of the times the children carry complete books where as they are being taught only one chapter at a time. Hence we can have books tailor made for each class which has all the subjects in single book. This book can have 5 to six volumes to cover part of the chapters from each subject as the class progresses in the academic year.
Similarly there can be just 2 to three notebooks for all subjects.
This way it would be possible to save paper as well as money for the parents.
Of course this would be strongly opposed by the schools, publishers as well as people in the business as this will reduce their profits. We have to take a decision whether to reduce load on our children or not.
The government could introduce these integrated books and notebooks in government schools and then issue guidelines to private schools.
Imagine how happy we were to carry just one notebook to the college.

Note: The analysis of the fact that the children are carrying full bag in a day while they can use only 2 to 4% in that day can be used in other problems to find a better solution which is economically more viable, it is similar to a situation where we have to carry yearly requirements daily whereas we can make do with 5 to 10 days of requirement without the need for stocking yearly requirements.

Cashless dream fading..Digital India Requires big push

Cashless dream fading
If the steps taken by the central government fade away after the initial push then the real benefits will also fade away. Hence their is a requirement to identify the most critical steps taken by the government and then focusing on the same to get the desired results.
To give you an example, post demonetization there was a big push for the digital payments and people were forced to go for the same since there was no hard cash available. The challenge today is to promote the cashless transactions when there is no dearth of cash. The big players which can generate a lot of digital transactions are still with the government like railways.
I was surprised to see that the Railway officials were happily accepting large sums of money for transportation of goods in cash from the big time traders. This was not expected atleast from the Railways.
This is just one example and there may be many more such transactions by government departments.

Single channel TV for children

Today the web and the tv channels do not provide content suitable for mental and emotional growth of the children.
Hence, with the increase in internet speeds and reduction in tarrifs we can plan the content for the kids and children as per the age and availability of content as per the time of the day and or month in a year.
The content for teaching in schools can also be developed where there are scarcity of good schools and teachers

Water in space

I have a question, what if I throw a big piece of ice in space. Will it melt when light from a star falls on it. If it melts and then it is converted to water the will the water molecules break away or will remain together due to cohesion. Next question related to this is till the time light falls on the ice it may get converted to water but what if the light is obstructed will the water freeze again. Related with this what is the temperature of space. I have seen the space walks but what is the outside temperatures during spacewalks. Does the spacesuits provide heating or cooling.
If fire can be made inside water can it be made in space.

Air Purifiers on all vehicles

WHY NOT MAKE AIR PURIFIER COMPULSORY FOR ALL MEDIUM AND BIGGER VEHICLES SAY WITH CAPACITY HIGHER THAN 2000CC

Simple solution: modify the air-conditioning system to emit some part of purified air outside the vehicle for smaller vehicles
One more solution: modify the air path entering through filter to the engine and let some part of it be emitted outside without using for the engine. This can be done for all bigger capacity vehicles like trucks and buses as well as for other vehicles also where ac is not installed.

All vehicles should act as air purifiers by installing a device in the front of the vehicles.
When the speed is more, the polluted air hits the filtering devices installed in the front and keep accumulating dust particles like the filter of air conditioners.
These dust particles are then emptied by adding some water and converted to solid bricks.
These devices will keep cleaning the polluted air on the roads which are biggest sources of pollution.
This device can be integrated with each vehicle’s radiator system and should be made compulsory for all vehicles operating in the cities.

BID FOR INDIA

We can have a website which has social ideas in the form of projects for transforming the society in the field of education, poverty elimination, help to old and weaker sections, improvement in health services etc.
Each person can propose an idea and ask for bidding or contributions by the persons who wish to be part of it. Ideas does not cost any money but good ideas which are practical as well as bring change in the society are rare. Hence the onus of implementing the project lies with the person having an idea or solution. He may bid for persons, money, equipment time or any resource but getting the same is as per the novelty of the idea.
An example is already posted for ease of understanding. It is titled quality education for all.
Let’s unite to make the world a better place to live.
Education for all: The CDs of all classes lectures by best teachers be provided to all schools where good teachers are not available. This can’t be replacement for teachers but it will ensure quality education to all irrespective of the place where they reside. The infrastructure required is a basic PC with at least 30 inches LED TV as display. Even a device can be made with integrated display running on android or an open source program to run the classroom teaching software with wireless keyboard and mouse.
The user interface is made so that any one with even basic knowledge can operate the software and select and run lectures on various subjects for all classes.
Any person bidding for this system could select the area and people of his choice to support the project.

Lets watch them live

When Parliament is in session, its good that RS TV and LS TV broadcast it live so that all citizens can watch our representative decide our fate and the fate of the country.
But the important question remains as to how many people watch it or should I say can watch it as there is no holiday for common people to see the Parliament function.
My suggestion is that the broadcast of the Parliament session should be done compulsorily at public places like railway stations, bus stands and government buildings such as hospitals and other offices. This way at least some people would be able to see our Parliament function.

Digital India एक भारत

How to implement digital India

I think digital India dream will become reality only if we think about one India or एक भारत. This means we develop one package(software) for each unit of the country such as for gram sabha, gram panchayat, village, tehsil, district, jila panchayat, state and ministries of  government of india.

Best advantage of a computer is that a software package developed for one village can be duplicated for more than lakh villages of the country. Similarly packages developed for each branch of the state or government can be used by all and this will reduce the development cost. There is a requirement today that all village of the country get the same software, each district of the country should run the same software and each state should run the same software. This is what I mean by one India or एक भारत. It is like every body in the country running the latest android or apple software and using the latest phone. This will bring a sence of unity and equality within the country. All this entities will be connected in a way that all villages develop at the similar pace rather than waiting for a good or influential leader or administrator doing the development in a particular village, tehsil, district or state.

Each entity should be provided the basic infrastructure to implement the digital India dream. Since all the government establishment are paid from the tax collected from all citizens hence at the least digital India will create a digital equality. Each post office, bank, police station, hospital, government department should run on same software developed for each entity. This will help in achieving transparency, efficiency scalability, financial management, monitoring and finally the success of digital one India or एक भारत.

Imagine the employment opportunities with a single system running everywhere and people find same level of governance and facilities everywhere whether they are in New Delhi or in a village located at a remote location in the country. Imagine a citizen from any location in the country connected to his village or Town or city and be able to update his data or connect to any government official of the village, tehsil, district or state.

Only urgency today is that all the states should not start implementing their own systems which results in a situation where the softwares can not be integrated with each other at a later date. This will be like constructing a good road and then digging at various place to make footpaths and inserting pipes and cables under the road ultimately damaging a well constructed road. This is quite common in our country where no one is accountable for the loss in such activities like digging the roads.

Comments and suggestions are welcome, hope the government moves in the right direction.

Citizen Portal for Government Projects

Citizen project monitoring portal
Citizen project monitoring portal

There is a need to have a project management and monitoring portal or website which can be accessible to all citizens of the country. It will have a basic lay out covering following aspects
Project description Like road, hospital, park, godown, power plant etc.
Project contractor,
Cost, time of completion, progress bar or chart, datewise photos or videos
Feedback by citizens, officials and agency responsible, warranty or guarantee, money paid.
Example

Similar format for each type of projects can be prepared. Since the details are entered in the Citizens info portal prior to the start of project, the details of all projects would be available on internet.
A format once prepared can be made available to all ministries to upload their details of the projects.
Once the projects are started the live details of each projects and their progress can be monitored very easily at the highest level. Any delay in projects is known for better monitoring and accountability.
Financial management would be simple and can be more accurately monitored and controlled,
Lead to transparency in system and will empower the common man.
Finally Will help nation building.
Further afterthoughts
The portal should ideally be operated by the govt but people should be able to add their comments photos and videos.

Direct Benefit to Farmers , अन्नदाता

The farmers in India are the anndaata of this country and they need to be given their due so that no one sleeps hungry in this nation.
Problem: The farmers can’t sell their crops directly to the consumers and the consumers can’t get the food grains directly. This results in the middlemen pocketing large percentage of the profit.
It is a must that the farmers should get most of the profit if farming has to be promoted.
The problem is lack of system to store the food grains and ways to reduce the no of intermediaries.
Can their be a way that consumers can pay the farmers directly for the crops and in turn are assured of a price accepted by farmers as well as the consumers. The farmer is paid some pertion of the amount during sewing of crops and then balance amount during supply to the consumers. In case of loss of crops due to natural calamity the burden is shared by the consumer as well as the farmer thus helping the farmer to tide over the situation.
This system is very complex like how do we pay the farmers when we don’t know from whose farms we will get the food grains. This can probably be dine by the government by accepting the money from people ready to support farmers in a central fund or bank and then paying the farmers as per the amount of crops supplied by them. This way farmers and consumers can benefit equally without any middleman getting the profit. The government will fix the price of the crops and the amount received in the central fund will be distributed to all farmers as a bonus. Government can give tax rebate to the people contributing for the farmers fund.
People spend a lot on other products derived after food processing and are ready to pay any amount for these items. The raw material is procured from the farmers by these industries and the finished product is sold to the consumers at a higher rates.since private companies are involved, biggest share of profit is made by the industry. Here also the industry should be given tax break on the amount contributed by them in the farmers fund.
Comparison of rates:
Soap 100 gm 30 rs
1 kg soap 300 rs per kg
Aashirwad flour 300 /10kg
Rice 30 to 50 rs per kg

Paddy (rice) 14 to15 per kg
Wheat 14 to 15 per kg
